This Privacy Policy describes how the Cook'n Recipe Capture Plugin ("we", "our", or "the Extension") handles information when you use our Chrome browser extension. The Extension captures recipe data from web pages and sends it to the Cook'n recipe organizer software installed on your device.

1. Data We Access

The Extension uses the Active Tab permission to read content from the web page you are actively viewing when you click the capture button. This permission applies only to the tab you are currently on and only when you explicitly invoke the Extension. The Extension does not access any other tabs, browsing history, or background pages.

Specifically, the Extension reads:

• The URL of the active tab (to record the recipe source)
• The HTML content of the active tab (to extract recipe data such as title, ingredients, instructions, photos, and nutrition information)

2. How Captured Data Is Used

When you click the capture button, the extracted recipe data is transmitted to the Cook'n software running on your local device over a local connection. The data is used solely to import the recipe into your Cook'n recipe collection. No recipe data is sent to any external server operated by us.

3. No Analytics or Tracking

The Extension does not:

• Collect or transmit your browsing history
• Track which websites you visit
• Use analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting services
• Display or serve advertisements
• Sell or share any of your data with third parties
• Access tabs other than the one you are actively viewing when you trigger a capture

4. Local Communication with Cook'n Software

The Extension communicates with the Cook'n recipe organizer software installed on your computer. This communication occurs entirely on your local device and does not pass through any external server operated by us. You must have Cook'n software installed and running for the Extension to function.

5. Permissions Explained

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• Active Tab: Required to read recipe content from the page you are currently viewing. Access is granted only when you actively click the capture button on that tab.
• Storage: Used to store your preferences locally (such as connection settings for Cook'n software) so they persist between browser sessions. This data never leaves your device.

6. Third-Party Services

The Extension does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The Extension communicates only with the Cook'n software on your local device. Your use of Cook'n software is subject to DVO Enterprises' own privacy policy and terms of service.

7. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Extension after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
